Many children in remote parts of Kenya — including Gitite Village in North Kinangop — grow up without the basic educational resources they need to build strong early foundations. Some walk miles to the nearest school; others learn in classrooms without books, libraries, or essential materials. These early disadvantages quickly become lifelong barriers.
Our founder, Alfred Waithaka, lived this reality. As a young boy, he walked 10km barefoot to school every day — an experience that shaped his belief that no child should be limited by geography or circumstance.
Gitite Bridges to a Bright Future was created to change that. We work to strengthen education, nurture youth talent, promote health awareness, support sustainable agriculture, and build a community where every child and family can thrive. Through initiatives like the Gitite Community Library and youth development programmes, we are opening doors to a brighter, more equitable future — one child, one family, one village at a time.
